I’m a regular consumer just like you, who has had their nonstick pans ruined in the dishwasher because there was no possible way to remove the stuck particles by hand. I’ve had omelets broken because they were stuck to the pan. Chicken breasts that refused to flip because they were stuck to the pan. Or having my kids decide to make grilled cheese leaving behind the burnt cheese and other particles for me to miraculously clean,

A renowned brand of nonstick utensils, Blue Diamond manufactures stockpots, pans, and entire cookware sets. Blue Diamond cookware comes in a variety of sizes and capacities, ranging from saucepans and grill pans to griddles and skillets. However, the 10-inch frypan is the focus of this review.

The pan features a metallic handle, blue design, diamond dust finish, and ceramic interior. Due to its 10-inch size, it allows you to cook two portions of meat at once or fry three eggs.

  • Design & Shape

Images of Blue Diamond cookware sets speak for themselves when it comes to decorative features. These include:

  • Exterior

On the outside, the pan is radiant blue. It is ideal for cooking many different dishes since the sides are not too short or too long. You will not burn your hands while using a spatula, because the oil doesn’t run over the walls.

  • The Interior

Inside the Blue Diamond set is a smooth ceramic coating. The nonstick coating from Blue Diamond is 5X harder, 10X longer-lasting, and 4X faster than traditional nonstick coatings. The product is even toxin-free (free of PFOA, PFAS, cadmium, and lead), so you won’t have to worry about cooking with metal utensils.

  • Handles

A comfortable, 8-inch handle makes it easy to grip, rotate, and toss food. One disappointing feature of its design is that it can get hot when used on high heat, so oven mitts will be required.

  • Lids

To preserve moisture and ensure flavorful results, Blue Diamond Pans come with tight-fitting glass lids.

  • Durability

Various coatings are used by cookware manufacturers to make non-stick products, and different methods are used to spray or attach the coatings. The quality of nonstick pans can vary depending on the material used, the number and density of layers, and the manufacturing process. A multilayer ceramic substrate infused with diamonds is used by Blue Diamond. Due to Blue Diamond’s hardness, Blue Diamond cookware shouldn’t warp, peel or degrade after a few months of use.

In comparison to many pans on the market, this one is said to be “ten times more durable” and should maintain its non-stick properties. Customers report that this pan is just like any other pan capable of getting damaged. It’s not invincible! Infused diamonds are not the same as real diamonds. Wouldn’t that be wonderful – a diamond pan that would never break or scratch? Unfortunately, we aren’t there yet. However, it might not last as long as others. Some reports claim it scratches easily, even on the inside. Non-stick coatings should be thrown away as soon as they start peeling. As a result, there is a good chance that this pan won’t last long.

  • Safety

Lead, PFAs, and cadmium are not present in the cookware, according to the manufacturer. As a result, it sounds like a healthy option for cooking. But reputable cookware doesn’t contain these substances. Although Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is the active ingredient in Teflon and most non-stick products, it is not mentioned in the product description.

Warning: Possible presence of PTFE in this product.

The PTFE used in cooking has been proven to be safe in many scientific studies. If you don’t use temperatures higher than 260°C (500°F), PTFE won’t emit toxic gases. By following a few precautionary tips, you won’t have any problems with your home setting. In addition, unlike PFOA, PTFE is food-safe and FDA-approved, so your family shouldn’t be at risk.

My biggest problem is that many people are trying to avoid PTFE, so they buy pans without realizing what they are buying. The oven-safe handles make it a safe appliance. A pan like this can withstand temperatures up to 450°C (850°F), so you can use it both in the oven and under the broiler. When cooking, the handle can become hot, which can be a safety concern.

  • Blue Diamond Price

The Blue Diamond non-stick pan is one of the cheapest options on the market. Labor and regulation compliance costs in China are significantly lower than in other parts of the world, so Blue Diamond products are marketed there.

Unlike other cookware sold by retailers, Blue Diamond’s product is only available online and through Amazon. As a result of the removal of the middleman, Blue Diamond is able to offer a significantly lower price than their competitors.

How We Tested?

In order to test the Blue Diamond pan, we cooked French omelets, crepes, and over-easy, fried eggs. It was with French omelets that we tested how gently and quickly the skillets cooked eggs without browning. Over-easy fried eggs are a delicate task, so we looked for pans with flared sides that made flipping them easier. As we swirled the batter across the pan, we made tall stacks of crepes to judge how comfortable and maneuverable each pan was.

In addition to showing us how well each pan distributed heat, the browning pattern on the crepes themselves showed us how evenly they cooked. The pans were also lightly dusted with flour and heated over medium heat. By browning the flour, we could see even more hot spots and gauge how quickly each pan heated up.

Testing Overview

  • Overall Verdict

This Blue Dimond 10-inch Professional Restaurant Fry Pan is a superb nonstick cookware that distributes heat evenly, is easily maneuverable and is affordable. The handle is comfortable but gets a tad hot when left over a high flame. So, be sure to have oven mitts on hand.

  • Cooking Omelets

With its flared sides and just the right size for cooking an omelet with three eggs, the Blue Diamond’s surface is easy to flip. Moreover, this pan is available in four different sizes (8, 9.5, 10, 11, 12, and 14 inches) so that different cooking needs can be accommodated. Blue Diamond is coated with a smooth, slick nonstick coating. In repeated testing, we found that it readily released food. The pan produced pale-yellow omelets with ease.

  • Cooking Crepes

We were impressed with the Blue Dimond’s ability to make evenly golden crepes and fluffy yellow French omelets. Cast-aluminum construction disperses heat evenly across the cooking surface, resulting in fewer hot spots and better control of temperature. With the pan’s comfortable handle and good balance, we avoided hand and arm fatigue, and the bent lip allowed us to cleanly pour out excess batter without any rogue drips.

  • Cooking Eggs & Maneuverability

Flipping fried eggs was easy, thanks to the Blue Dimond’s wide-angle curves. As we repeatedly swirled crepe batter in the Blue Dimond, we noticed that it was easy to maneuver.

  • Oven Performance

While we did not test these pans in the oven, Blue Dimond claims they can handle temperatures of up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. You can make frittatas, roasted vegetables, or Spanish tortillas without worrying about damage. Just be mindful that you will need to have oven mitts or a folded towel to hold the handle as you remove the pans from the oven.

Sentimental Analysis of Amazon Reviews

The Blue Diamond pan maintains a steady influx of positive reviews on Amazon with 87% of its users praising its innovative design, durability, quality of cooking, and versatility. While 13% of its users held a negative perspective, mainly with issues with the handle that got hot when used or that their pan got scratched easily.

Key Performance Factors Analysis

The main factors of our analysis were non-stick performance, cleaning, and quality of cooking. We found that:

  • Non-stick Performance: 8/10

The non-stick properties of Blue Diamond Pan cookware are claimed to work well at first but lose their effectiveness after a few months of use. It’s important to note that every individual’s experience is different, so this summary may not be accurate.

Due to our experience with this cookware set, we’ve found that if you take the right care and take it seriously, you’ll get satisfactory, reliable nonstick cooking results. Reviewers often said they used abrasive sponges to clean their cookware after it lost its nonstick qualities, something the company recommends against.

  • Cleaning: 9/10

The cookware comes with a booklet that describes its warranty period. Food that has been cooked in an oven can be used on an induction kitchen top. The manual states that the Blue Diamond pans are dishwasher-safe, but many recommend hand washing.

As a result, you should always clean up your cookware right after use. Leaving it in the sink overnight can cause damage to the aluminum pots and pans, which are sensitive to damage.

  • Quality of Cooking: 9/10

Diamonds heat quickly, which saves time and energy. Compared to regular cookware, these pans are said to heat four times faster. They also improve heat transfer, facilitating even cooking.

Upsides Detected

When I first saw the Blue Diamond commercial on TV, I wondered if it was a cookware I would want to use every day. As a result of all the research I conducted, here are some of its positive aspects:

  • Pans Seem Durable

A ceramic coating infused with diamonds ensures the set’s durability. For long-term use, you’ll get a cookware set with high levels of durability and top-quality construction.

  • Super Non-Stick Coating

You can cook with the cookware because it has a nonstick coating so that your food won’t stick. This makes preparing delicious meals easier.

  • Forged Base

Based on forged technology, this set is designed for extreme sturdiness, warp resistance, and strength. Cooking doesn’t result in the wobbling, loosening, or warping pieces.

  • Toxin-Free Set

For healthy cooking, you get cookware free of Lead, PFOA, and Cadmium.

  • Five Times as Hard as Traditional Non-stick Pans

Compared to other traditional sets, this one is designed to last 5X longer. This non-stick coating lasts 10X longer compared to other non-stick pans on the market.

  • Even Heat Transfer and Conduction

Diamond-infused sets provide excellent heat transfer and conduction. It makes cooking faster and keeps the food warm afterward.

  • Increased Usability.

Various stovetops such as halogen, electric, and gas can be used with your cookware set.

  • Oven and Broiler and Safe

You can use this set in broilers and ovens up to 850°F.

  • Dishwasher and Metal Safe.

The set is dishwasher-safe and extremely easy to clean.

  • Low Investment Value.

With high levels of affordability, this is a premium-quality cookware set. There are numerous kitchen utensils in this set without stretching your budget too thin.

Downsides Detected

Overall, our testing went smoothly, but we also found a few downsides that were noted in Amazon reviews that you should consider before making your purchase. We found:

  • Develops Bruises and Scratches

There is a problem with the set’s nonstick coating, which is not as effective as the manufacturer claims. Various customer reviews indicate that the set develops scratches and bruises after prolonged use.

  • Handwashing Recommended

For a longer lifespan, we recommend hand washing the set even though it is dishwasher safe. To prevent scuff marks, we recommend using nylon or wooden cooking tools.

  • Handles Run Hot

Several safety features are included in the set, including insulated handles. However, the handles are made of stainless steel, and they can get hot during a long cooking process.

  • Requires Lubricants

Customer reviews indicate that the nonstick coating is not as effective as advertised. Cooking without butter or oil still results in food sticking.

Other Competition: How Does The Blue Diamond Pan Compare?

9.5″ Swiss Diamond Nonstick Fry Pan

Three times as expensive as the Blue Diamond, this item offers almost the same features. Both are nearly the same size, construction, and weight. This might be a better choice if you like cool-touch handles and don’t mind paying a few dollars more.

Here are the main differences between Swiss Diamond and Blue Diamond:

  • Non-stick properties are good, but it may not last long.
  • The Swiss Diamond pan’s aluminum design is infused with diamonds.
  • The cool-touch handles of this product stand out from Blue Diamond.
  • In terms of heat conductivity and ergonomics, both are highly rated.
  • The price of the Swiss Diamond is higher.
  • PTFE is an active ingredient in Swiss Diamond (Teflon), as is likely the case for Blue Diamond.

MICHELANGELO 10” Nonstick Frying Pan

The product has a blue exterior, ceramic interior, and diamond-infused inner layers, just as you read about in the Blue Diamond review. It gets hot because of the metallic design, but the handles are comfortable for lifting and turning the food out. This 10-inch skillet is a great option if you need a PTFE-free version of Blue Diamond.

The following is a brief comparison of MICHELANGELO vs. Blue Diamond:

  • The Michelangelo pan is induction compatible, unlike the Blue Diamond pan is not.
  • Has a heat resistance of about 232°C (450°F), which is almost half that of a Blue Diamond.
  • The product is free of all Teflon ingredients, including PTFE.
  • Both come with a lid.
  • Both are oven and dishwasher-safe.
  • Both are excellent heat conductors.

14” Granite Stone Nonstick Frying Pan

Besides the Blue Diamond frying pan, this Granite Stone pan is oven-safe to 550°F (280°C). Hard diamonds reinforce the three thick aluminum layers, making it truly nonstick. You might want to consider this option if you need to host large dinner parties. The product description does not specify if it is PTFE-free. Teflon is made up of PTFE. If these things are unclear, that is not a good sign, and it probably contains PTFE. The world won’t end, but you won’t be able to escape it.

Compared with Blue Diamond, Granite Stone has the following features:

  • It is almost twice the size of the Blue Diamond.
  • The handles feel cool to the touch.
  • Granite Stone handles are not as comfortable as Blue Diamond handles because they have sharp ends.
  • As a result of its larger capacity, the pan weighs 1 pound more.
  • Heat distribution is not as efficient.
  • As with Blue Diamond, Granite Stone is likely to contain PTFE.

FAQ

  • How Good Is the Heat Distribution?

Aluminum is used in the construction of the Blue Diamond base. Diamond bases conduct heat four times faster than copper, according to the company. Technically correct, but inaccurate nonetheless. Aluminum is the main component of the base and is the main weight. It is less sensitive to temperature changes than copper, but does heat evenly.

The pot doesn’t get hotter than the most reliable copper cookware. The benefit may be marginal, but it’s not the main factor affecting how quickly or slowly the pan heats.

  • Is Blue Diamond Safe to Cook With?

Thermolon ceramic is used by Blue Diamond to create a nonstick coating on its panes, making it safe for cooking. A ceramic coating is generally considered a healthier alternative to nonstick PTFE coatings.

In a statement, the brand claims the pan is toxin-free for easy preparation. According to the Madrid Declaration, researchers highlighted chemicals with toxic environmental impacts. The coating does not contain heavy metals or environment-damaging chemicals, according to the manufacturer.

  • How Durable Is the Blue Diamond Pan?

Thermolon nonstick coating, according to Blue Diamond, will last 10 times longer than traditional nonstick products. When regularly used, most home appliance owners believed frying pans would last almost a year.

The typical lifespan of a ceramic pan is less than two years. In comparison with other nonstick ceramic choices, Blue Diamond’s pan has a larger surface area. Because of the price, however, most consumers will simply accept that the pans will need to be replaced sooner or later.
